Ivory okimono-netsuke of a rikishi and masseur
An ivory okimono-netsuke of a rikishi and masseur. The seated wrestler leans back on one hand and grimaces as the blind masseur dances attendance, working assiduously on his client’s right arm. The carving is a masterful example of Japanese comic observation with each figure grimacing.
