A Boxwood Inro Ensemble with Dragons by Hidari Issan (Iwashiro, 1804-1857)
The 3 case inro carved with a dragon and clouds in sharp relief on each side. The eyes of both creatures are inlaid with black pupils surrounded by gilt wire. The slim sinuous dragon of the netsuke has more elaborate eyes, similar pupils set within bone eye balls
