An Inlaid and Lacquered Wood Circular Box and Cover attributed to Ogawa Haritsu, known as Ritsuō (1663-1747)
The body of fine and tightly woven basket work, reinforced with rims and circular panels of what are probably lacquered wood. The central medallion has a very youthful and effeminate Daruma with a face of ceramic paste swathed in a robe of negoro lacquer. The surround has a decoration of flowers in coloured takamakie
