An Ivory Netsuke of the Bust of a Chinese Sage

Formed from a fragment of an ivory sculpture of a Chinese sage with eyes closed and a serene expression, the reverse lacquered black with three holes forming himotoshi, the ivory somewhat worn and bearing a good patina

Unsigned.  Early 17th century

Height: 9.5cm
