Boxwood and corozo nut netsuke of a hatching turtle by Susan Wraight (born 1955) moved to Australia in 1983 

The wood turtle struggling out of its nut shell. The skin is rendered with ukibori pimples and the eyes are large inlays of dark horn

Signed with monogram SW on a gold tablet

With original wood box applied with a similar tablet to that on the netsuke
