Early Lacquered Low Table or Stand
The negoro lacquered top sits over a pierced gallery and four elegant outward scrolling legs. Apart from the top, the whole is black lacquered with undecorated metal mounts to protect the corners and the feet. The table is remarkable for retaining most of its original surface.
Muromachi period, probably 16th century
