Exceptional Wood Netsuke of a Professional Sneezer by Miwa
The emaciated performer exposing his chest to reveal his rib cage, his head thrown back and mouth wide open on the point of sneezing. He holds a bone tickle stick in one hand

The configuraton of large oval himotoshi either side of a bar are typical of early Edo netsuke and suggest the work of Miwa I. In all events, this is visibly superior to the example in the Go collection, Tokyo National Museum (illustrated in Arakawa, pp. 105-160, no. 194)
