Exceptional Wood Netsuke of Oni Yarai, attributed to Hokyudo Itsumin
Largely carved from a dark hard wood (probably rosewood), with tiger striped shorts in a lighter wood, two horns and possibly a fang inlays of bone, one eye and four bangles of buffalo horn
Signed with a single unread kanji. Circa 1830
Length: 4 cm
While the subject is a Nagoya one, the execution is reminiscent of Hasegawa Ikko
