Ivory netsuke of a performing monkey by Yamaguchi Okatomo (active 1780-1830) 

Unusually wearing an eboshi, tied beneath its chin, the monkey sits nibbling a fruit or nut, holding a branch with two paws.  The eyes are small inlays of dark horn and the ivory has a good colour and polish
