Since handling this netsuke, I disagree with the conclusion of Milton Stratos that it might be by Miura Yoshinaga (International Netsuke Society Journal, 31/1, p. 21, fig. 31, illustrated). I think it is an older netsuke and therefore probably closer to the model which served as inspiration
