Project Description
Kurogaki Netsuke of Horse Licking its Leg
An unusual composition of a horse with rather small head lying on its side and nuzzling its right hind hoof. The artist has cleverly used a piece of wood which is light across the back of the horse and almost black elsewhere. The eyes appear to be inlaid in a lighter but undetermined material
