The cover of the kidney-shaped box with an owl perched on a wystaria branch beneath the full moon. The ground is of roiro-mura-nashiji, the decoration of gold hiramakie and gold foil with kirigane.  The interior is richly decorated with stylised snow flakes and wafting cherry petals
