Large Boxwood Netsuke of Endo Morito by Meishu
Kneeling on one knee and looking down in horror at the head of Kesa in his lap, which he has cut off in the mistaken belief that he was killing her husband, Watanabe Wataru. His wakizashi is bared behind him
With tomobako, titled on the cover morita to kesa, signed on the inside Kawara Meishu with kao. With a later inscription in French by a former owner about having shown the netsuke to Raymond Bushell in Tokyo
