Large Sashi Netsuke of a Long Legged Kappa by Hideyuki (born 1941)
Poking its head and bony hands out of a hole towards the top of the cucumber, its webbed feet appearing through another two at the bottom. The eyes of the creature are inlays of bone, and pimples in the skin of the vegetable have inlays of gold, silver, shell and bone. A tendril is an inlay of silver wire

In original tomobako, inscribed on the outside of the cover ashinaga kappa. Signed on the underside of the cover Hideyuki with a kaō, the same kaō alongside as a seal
