Polished Bamboo Brush Holder with Shojo by Shosai
Meticulously and sensitively engraved with five shojo frolicking and sitting around a large saké jar, two of them visibly suffering from their consumption. The main body is of polished bamboo, the insert for the himotoshi and the ends of the holder of shitan. The overall conception is reminiscent of the work of Hasegawa Ikko
