Exceptional 4-case gold lacquer inro with Shibayama inlay by Kakõsai  

Inlaid on each side with a butterfly fluttering over dandelions and cyclamen. The inlays are predominantly shell in various colours, with some tortoise-shell and stained bone or ivory. The carving is exquisite and the lacquer is in pristine condition

With a two-part ivory manju with similar but less impressive inlays, signed Shibayama saku, and a lacquered ojime with engraved butterfly and applied gold flower

It is not obvious that the artist is the same as any one of the three associated with the name by Wrangham
