Project Description

Tamba School Wood Netsuke of a Flying Horse

Not so much galloping as flying. The eyes are small inlays of horn
The conception puts one in mind of other flying creatures of Toyomasa’s that one knows, such as a boar, hares and a horse in gourd. Fuld does not record any other netsuke of the subject by any artist
