Well Used Wood Netsuke of an Oni by Tanaka Juntoku Minkō (Tsu, 1735-1816)
The muscular demon walking with a basket balanced on one shoulder, containing what look suspiciously like a masu and beans for the Setsubun festival, a rope tied around his left wrist and held in his left hand

Although the physiognomies are different, it is interesting to compare this with the oni saké vendor exhibited at the Minneapolis exhibition of 1998 (Welch and Chappell, no. 52). Note expecially the treatment of the arm muscles and the legs overall
