Wood Netsuke of a Contended Looking Toad by Toryusai Kozan (born 1786)
Crouching, facing forward, with all its limbs drawn in, ringed markings on its back probably contrived by an early use of the ukibori, technique, executed with a circular punch, the eyes inlaid in dark material
Signed beneath: Kozan. Circa 1800
