Almost naked, but for a loincloth, a tenugui around his head, he sits cross-legged on his almost finished wheel and works on it with a plane
Inscribed, apocryphally on the rim of the wheel “tenmei kinoye inu miwa zo” [made by Miwa in the Tenmei year of the dog, 1782]. Circa 1880
