Osaka School Dark Stained Ivory Netsuke of a Seated Shishi 

Scratching its jaw with a hind paw in such a way as to provide the natural himotoshi.  The mane and tale have a distinctive symmetrical disposition typical of artists of the school.  Eye pupils are protruding inlays of dark buffalo horn.There is a loose ball in the mouth.The original staining is almost unworn
