Virtuoso Tessai Style Buffalo Horn Sashi-netsuke in the Form of a Dried Salmon, by Cornel Schneider (active Swiss carver)

The fish carved with astounding naturalism, the colour of the scales contrasting cleverly with the rest, the tail with a pleasing curve.  The dead eyes are of amber. The himotoshi is pierced in the mouth, allowing a cord to pass through a gill or the cavity of the stomach. With storage container carved from a length of boxwood with most of its bark and lined in leather to protect the netsuke
